Sylvester's story

At just eight weeks old, Sylvester arrived in our care fighting for his life.

He was suffering from severe lungworm, dehydration, and terrible diarrhoea after growing up in the wild, where food was scarce and survival meant eating whatever he could find. Like so many rescue kittens, he came to us malnourished, exhausted, and desperately in need of help.

After receiving urgent veterinary treatment, Sylvester was welcomed into the home of one of our dedicated foster carers. With time, patience, and plenty of love, the tiny kitten who had once been so fragile slowly began to recover.

While Sylvester's health improved quickly in many ways, his diarrhoea took much longer to pass. This is actually quite common in rescue kittens who have experienced severe malnourishment and spent their early lives scavenging for food. Their little bodies often need lots of time, for their digestive systems to recover, and ongoing care and patience are an important part of that journey.

As his health improved, so did his personality. It wasn't long before Sylvester became a firm favourite, making it incredibly difficult for his foster family to say goodbye when he found what everyone hoped would be his forever home.

For a while, everything went well. But unfortunately, Sylvester's diarrhoea returned. Although this wasn't unusual given the difficult start he had in life, his adoptive family felt they were no longer able to manage his ongoing care, so he came back to us.

Sometimes life has a way of bringing us back to where we belong.

Sylvester returned to the foster family who had cared for him from the very beginning. They were overjoyed to have him back, and this time, they made him a permanent member of their family.

Today, Sylvester is almost unrecognisable from the tiny kitten who first arrived in our care. He's healthy, incredibly handsome, and deeply loved.

His story is a wonderful reminder that rescue is a journey, and sometimes the path to a forever home isn't always straightforward. Thanks to the dedication of our trappers, vets, foster carers, supporters, and adopters, Sylvester was given the second chance every cat deserves.

Bobbi

Once a whisper in the shadows, Bobbi lived under houses, wide-eyed, wary, and always ready to run. Each day, a kind woman left food out, hoping trust would grow. And slowly, it did. But not everyone in her world was kind. One cruel threat changed everything:

“If I see that cat again, I’ll shoot.”

That was the moment we stepped in. Today, Bobbi is safe. She’s learning the warmth of a gentle touch, the peace of napping in sunlight, the joy of not having to look over her shoulder. She’s still quiet, still observant, but now, she watches with curiosity instead of fear.

At just four months old, Bobbi is cheeky, brave, and endlessly curious. She adores exploring, cuddles when she’s comfortable, and relaxing to cat music or watching birds on YouTube. She gets along with other cats and quickly settles into new spaces. New people still make her pause, but give her a little time, and her playful spirit will shine through.

Bobbi doesn’t ask for much—just kindness, patience, and a soft place to land.

She’s found her forever home now, but her story reminds us of how powerful love, safety, and a second chance can be.

Bud

As in 'Rose'bud, came into our care after being found by a Mum and her kids wandering around their garden starving and lonely.   She was frail and initially extremely timid and as with all the kittens that come to us so malnourished, it was touch and go whether she would be strong enough to make it.

But thanks to the love and care of her foster carers and the hours they put in across several weeks she grew strong and her timid personality gave way to playfulness and lots of affection.

Bud is now happily enjoying her best life out on a farm with plenty of attention and other animals to bond with.

Luna

This was a story for someone with a generous heart, Someone who sees the beauty in an older animal, not despite her age, but because of it. Someone who understands that love at the end of a life is just as important as at the beginning.

Luna’s journey wasn’t easy. At 13 years old, her world changed in the most painful way. Her owners, no longer able to care for her, made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye. Euthanasia was on the table, until a vet stepped in, and Luna found her way into our care.

She arrived confused and heartbroken. Timid, quiet, and unsure where she belonged.

But we believed in her. And so did you. The response to Luna’s story was overwhelming. Offers of love and safe places came pouring in. And today, we’re thrilled to share that Luna has found her forever home. She’s now exploring her new world, finding sunlit spots to nap, warm laps to rest on, and people who speak her language of gentleness and patience. We also want to take a moment to thank Luna’s previous owners. We understand how difficult their decision must have been. Their love and care gave her the chance to find safety, peace, and a new beginning.

Luna’s story reminds us that it’s never too late for a new beginning.
